ATA 27-10-00, Aileron control rod installation

Regarding the installation of the push pull tubes for the aileron. The IPC 27-10-00, Fig 4 Pg 1, Detail B (WS 76.37) references the installation of Part No. 513512-1 rod assembly and 513505-501 rod assembly. This shows the following parts installed: AN960-416 washer, MS17826-4 nut, NAS75-4-009 bushing and the NAS464P4-16 / NAS6204-16D Bolt. When the installation is completed following the diagrams in the IPC, there will be stresses placed on the ears of the fitting that may cause failure of this attachment. We have concluded that the addition of an AN960-416 washer on the inside of the fitting between the rod bearing and the ear of the fitting will alleviate this problem (ref AMM 27-00-00 page 202)
